We brought nothing into the world and it is certain that we won’t take any earthly resources along when we leave this earth (1 Timothy 6:7). But God has provided a way for us to multiply our riches here on earth and to also convert them into heavenly treasures so we can continue enjoy them in heaven after leaving this earth.
There was a story of a young rich ruler in Mark 10:17-22 who came to Jesus, asking Him what he must so to have eternal life. One of Jesus’ answer to the rich ruler was to sell all he had on earth and give them to the poor so that he can have treasures in heaven. Jesus was simply showing the man the secret of converting earthly riches into heavenly treasures. This principle is also clearly revealed in first Timothy below.
I Timothy 6:17–19 NKJV
[17] Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. [18] Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, [19] storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
These scriptures make it clear that it is very possible to convert earthly riches to heavenly treasures and the way to achieve this is to be rich in good works, ready to give and willing to share with those in need. This is the way to convert your money, cars, houses, clothing, shoes, skills, talents, etc into heavenly treasures that doesn’t fade, rust, which thief doesn’t steal and that will last forever.
The interesting thing is that when we give, what we give is not only converted to heavenly treasures, they also come back to us in multiple folds here on earth (Luke 6:38; Mark 10:28; 2 Corinthians 9:8-10). God made it so, so that we can keep having more on earth to live by on earth and more to store in heaven. Isn’t that amazing!
2 Corinthians 9:9 AMP
As it is written and forever remains written, “He [the benevolent and generous person] scattered abroad, he gave to the poor, His righteousness endures forever!”
Do you want to enjoy your riches here on earth to keep multiplying and still enjoy them in heaven? Then start being benevolent and generous.
