Whosoever has not sufficiently suffered won’t know how to temper his/her character

One of the ways to know someone who have sufficiently suffered (went through the Lord’s training and dealings) and learnt from it is in the way they conduct their lives. There are some suffering that helps you become humble, wiser, smarter, temperate, and that also help you to understand human  nature and differences better.

The truth is, no one likes to suffer and no matter the benefits, the process is mostly not friendly. Nonetheless, sometimes God allow us pass through it in other to refine our character, strengthen our weakness, and sometimes build us into becoming a faithful leader.

Of Jesus, the bible in Hebrews 2:1718 NLT says

[17] Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. [18] SINCE HE HIMSELF HAS GONE THROUGH SUFFERING AND TESTING, HE IS ABLE TO HELP US WHEN WE ARE BEING TESTED.

It is easy to judge and castigate people when you’ve not gone through what they’ve been through, looking at the time and the circumstances that surrounds them when they were going through that thing. However, people who are wise and who have gone through some suffering and testing have learned how to temper their character.

THE POINT IS: Before writing off, castigate or condemn anyone (be it your spouse, friend, neighbors, etc.), try to understand what they’re going or have gone through. None of us is without weakness. And every strong man, will at one point or the other meet a moment of weakness. May the Lord help us in Jesus name.
