Uncontrolled anger makes one look like a fool and if you’re the type that can’t control your anger but must speak it out, then even a fool will be considered wiser than you.
Proverbs 17:27–28 AMP says
[27] He who has knowledge restrains and is careful with his words, And a man of understanding and wisdom has a cool spirit (self-control, an even temper). [28] Even a [callous, arrogant] fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; When he closes his lips he is regarded as sensible (prudent, discreet) and a man of understanding.
When you can’t control your anger, you relinquish your power to the other person and expose yourself and your actions to condemnation and rebuke no matter how good your intention is. Even if people finally sees your intention, still your action will be judged. This is why it will help you to learn to control your anger.
Spiritually speaking, when the Devil knows you’re the aggressive type, then anytime he wants to control you, all he has to do is to arouse your anger. This is a spiritual warfare strategy – direct the actions of your opponent by arousing their anger.
In any situation be it between you and your spouse, amongst colleagues, etc., if you realize your speaking, responding, reacting or acting will be out of control, then it’s wise not to do it. Otherwise, you’re giving a fool an advantage over you. Think about this!
