So many times we pray to God for miracles but despise what we already have. We expect the miracle to just appear. Many fail to realize that what they have may be the beginning of their Miracle.
For instance, in Mathew 14:17-21 and John 2:1-10, Jesus used five loaves to feed over five thousand people and turned water to wine respectively. However, observing these two instances shows that He used what the people already have to perform the miracles they needed. In fact, in Mark 6:38, He specifically asked them how many loaves they had at hand.
Mark 6:38, 41–43 NLT says
“How much bread do you have?” he asked. “Go and find out.” They came back and reported, “We have five loaves of bread and two fish.” Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. He also divided the fish for everyone to share. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftover bread and fish.
Jesus didn’t despise what the people brought. Instead, He multiplied it to meet their needs. In the same way, He may chose to use what you already have to meet your need.
For instance, are you trusting God for a house, or car, or whatever thing that you desire. While trusting Him, make a move to start saving towards it no matter how small your income. Are you believing God for good job, start doing whatever job you don’t doing or something that will get you ready when that opportunity comes. Use the skills you already have to do something meaningful.
Your savings or steps is a demonstration that you really have faith to have that thing. It is also a sign that you will be prudent to keep it. Don’t despise what you have because it may be the beginning of your miracle.
