When you have the understanding of times and seasons you will always know how to prepare and maximize opportunities which will always keep you ahead of your peers.
Few of the benefits enjoyed when we understand times and season
It keeps us in command in life
We see an example of this kind of understanding in 1 Chronicles 12:32;
And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment – 1 Chronicles 12:32.
These men understood what the nation of Israel ought to do. This understanding helped them prepare better and as a result their brethren were at their command.
It prepare us to make the most of every opportunities in alignment with God’s will.
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do – Ephesians 5:15-17 NLT.
For us not to live like fools and to make the most of every opportunities, we must understand what the LORD requires of us per time – this in turn requires the understanding of the times.
It help us see ahead so as to know how to plan ahead.
Jesus also wept for the Nation of Israel for the danger and destruction coming their way because they didn’t understand their time of visitation (Luke 19:41-44). Therefore, they didn’t know how to prepare against the attack.
And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, and shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation – Luke 19:41-44.
Therefore, let’s ask God for wisdom to understand times and seasons so that we can remain in command over the issues of life, understand God’s will per time and to see ahead so as to know how to prepare ahead.
