Being ignorant is bad. But being ignorant of our ignorance is worse

No one is an island of knowledge. Hence, the reason the bible says we know in part (1 Cor 13:9). No matter what we know, it’s still a fraction of what there is. Hence, the reason we need to keep seeking ways to know more.

Knowledge should bring transformation, light and progress when applied. But if what we know is not working or yielding any of these, wisdom requires that we sit and examine that knowledge if it is actually the right one. Sometimes we operate with wrong knowledge thinking it is the right one. But no matter how we try, a square peg can’t fit into a round hole – wrong knowledge will definitely produce wrong result.

Matthew 6:22 NLT says

But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And IF THE LIGHT YOU THINK YOU HAVE IS ACTUALLY DARKNESS, HOW DEEP THAT DARKNESS IS

Let us examine our marriage, our career, our ministry, our business, and our lives in general. Could it be that the issues you’ve been having in your marriage is as a result of wrong knowledge you have been operating with? Could wrong knowledge be the reason your business and career is not growing?

Being aware of our ignorance is deliverance on its own because we are now aware of our current state. But being ignorant of our ignorance is terrible because we will keep assuming we are right and everyone else is wrong. That leaves such person in utter darkness.

The point is: don’t assume you know it enough. If it’s not producing the desired result, then examine if the light you think you have is light indeed. You won’t walk in darkness in Jesus name.
