When someone’s soul is defiled, it gives room for unclean spirit to access such a person. Someone whose soul is defiled cannot have a lasting victory because for as long as Satan or his agent can find an access point into that soul, they will use it. This is why it is important for us to keep our souls from defilement.
Satan and unclean spirits doesn’t leave us alone permanently (Luke 4:13, Mathew 12:43-45). If you cast them out now, they will go. But they will return later to check if a door has been opened and if they find one, they will access it to cause damage (steal, kill or destroy).

When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came.
Matthew 12:43–45 NKJV
“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”
This explains why some persons keep having some challenges repeating themselves over and again after sometimes despite their prayers. But the only way to keep them out permanently is to make sure there is no door open through which they can come into our lives anymore. Tomorrow by God’s grace and if Jesus tarries, we will look at one of the common ways we unconsciously open the door for unclean spirit and how to stop it.
