Enticement is one of the fiery arrows of the enemy which we must watch out for. It is deployed to lure or arouse us into desiring, hoping, accepting or taking a step contrary or lower than God’s perfect will.
JAMES 1:13–15 NLT says
[13] And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. [14] TEMPTATION COMES FROM OUR OWN DESIRES, WHICH ENTICE US AND DRAG US AWAY. [15] These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.
Satan sometimes injects thoughts, desires, imaginations and ideas into our hearts to entice and drag us away to achieve his goal. This is why scripture admonishes us to subject every thoughts and imagination to the knowledge of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4-5) because that is how to prove that these things are from God.
He tried to entice Jesus with the kingdoms of the world and their glory (Mathew 4:9-10) so as to stop him from fulfilling God’s plan. But Satan failed because Jesus didn’t fall for his entice.
In the same way, anytime you are set to do God’s will, then you need to watchout because Satan will equally set out to entice you in other to stop you. And because our passion and desires are different, so also what will be used to entice us will be different. But certainly, everyone will have to deal with this in one way or the other.
You will not fall for his entice in Jesus name.
