Fiery Arrow 4: Intimidation and threat

The next fiery arrow of the Enemy to watch out for is intimidation and threat. These are used to cause timidity or fear in people, and make them loose the strength to move on. To overcome this fiery arrow, you must learn to face your fear.

Most often, the enemy will try to intimidate you when they discover you’re becoming a threat to them or when they probably have seen a gift or a potential in you which you probably haven’t seen in yourself. And in other to steal that gift or silence that potential from finding expression, intimidation is used.

In 2 Kings 18:13-30, the Assyrians besieged the land of Israel. At first, the king of Israel gave the king of Assyrians gold and silver to pacify him (verse 14-16), but the king of Assyrians still besieged the land of Israel (verse 17). What he actually wanted was the whole land of Israel because he knew that the land was given to the Israelites by God and it flows with milk and honey. Yet, he wanted them to believe there was a better land he had for them if they would surrender to him (verse 32).

To intimidate and make the Israelites afraid, the Assyrians chiefs cited the names of the countries they had conquered and at the same time insulted the God of Israel. But instead of giving in to the enemy’s intimidation and threat, the people of Israel ran to their God and He gave them victory over the enemy

It doesn’t matter how much intimidation you’re also facing right now, don’t give in. Instead, run to God like king Hezekiah did, present the case before Him and He will help you. Refuse to be timid or afraid and with God’s backing, your enemy will turn their back at you and flee.

You will not loose what is yours in Jesus name.
