If we live lawlessly, we make it difficult for God to help us until we’re willing to change

So many of us today seems not to know or have forgotten this core truth that bearing a Christian name, coming from a Christian home, calling yourself a Christian, bearing a Christian title, or even calling the name of Jesus is not a guarantee to gain access into God’s kingdom until God’s will is done.

We now do things casually, lawlessly, fearlessly and godlessly as if that kingdom is somewhere we can bribe our ways or jump the fence to other. In marriage, in family, at work, in our society, etc., it now seems as if God’s will is invalid, powerless and useless. We go about proclaiming the name of Jesus but living in denial of His words and wills. We forget there are kingdom laws guiding each of these areas.

Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV says

“NOT EVERYONE WHO SAYS TO ME, ‘LORD, LORD,’ SHALL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, BUT HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice LAWLESSNESS!’

Also see Mathew 13:41 about lawlessness. There are kingdom laws guiding marriage, family life, society, work, and every areas of human endeavor. If we live lawlessly or flaunt God’s laws in these areas Jesus can’t help us until we’re willing to change. Another deceit I have seen is some persons using the lawless life of some Christians as excuse not to give their own life to Christ. But think about this, if some people who proclaim Jesus still couldn’t enter God’s kingdom because they failed to do God’s will, what chance do you think those who didn’t confess Christ at all will have?

We have to obey God’s will and laws. As God reveal His ways and Laws to us, we have to be willing and ask Him for help to do His will because no good work can be used as bait to deceive God or make Him change His standards. May the Lord help us to please Him all the time in Jesus name.
