Distraction is one of the powerful weapons of the enemy we must all watch out for. Some distraction appear harmless because they don’t completely stop our movement, but in a subtle way, they reduce our speed and effectiveness.
No distracted person can fully maximize destiny, and no distracted organization can fulfil her potential. No distracted Manager can successfully drive the growth and expansion of an organization, and no distracted Minister can maximize his or her calling no matter the promise of God upon the life of such Minister. Therefore, if you want to succeed exceedingly, absolute focus is a requirement.
Proverbs 4:23–27 MSG says
Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. KEEP YOUR EYES STRAIGHT AHEAD; IGNORE ALL SIDESHOW DISTRACTIONS. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.
Distraction could come via any channel. Activities, social media, lack and wants, unwanted opportunities, needless association, unnecessary discussions, etc. could be a channel of distraction. The fact is, once you know what is most important and needful in your life, every other thing that doesn’t really contribute to your definition of fulfilment should be classified as distraction.
Remember, whatever distract you is taking a portion of your lifetime. So be wise!
