Treasures are good, and God wants us to have it as much as needed. But not at the expense of eternal treasures. Why? Because the treasure of this world fade away very fast. But eternal treasure last forever (Mathew 6:19-20).
Come to think of it – the most beautiful cars and houses of 50 years ago have become old when compared with modern cars and houses. This simply means the most precious material things today will have no value in few years to come. Why then should we loose our peace, joy and heavenly treasure for these temporary things?
While on earth, Jesus sent His disciples to go and preach the gospel. They came back with good report that even spirit obeyed them at the mention of the name of Jesus. Jesus told them not to rejoice that they have authority over spirit, but above all they should rejoice that their names are written in heaven.
Luke 10:20 NKJV says
Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
Glory to God for all that you have – the good job, the material & financial blessings, the beautiful family (spouse and children), the affluence and fame, and many beautiful things that you have. With all these, even if you build countless houses, have countless cars, build countless businesses, celebrated as the wisest or most beautiful woman or most handsome man that ever lived, and rated as the richest man on earth, all these are a waste if your name is not written in heaven because the treasures end in this world.
Heaven is real whether you believe it or not. But it will be wise if you prepare for it. My prayer for you is that you will not miss heaven in Jesus name.
