Life is tough, but tougher for baby Christians. Why? Because baby Christians are no different from slaves (Galatians 4:1-2). To start enjoying Christianity, you must at least grow to the level of sonship and the proof that you have attain that level is if you can be led by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14).
Baby Christians are unskillful in the word of righteousness (Hebrews 5:13) and don’t know how to use God’s word to determine what it right or wrong. They judge anything as right or wrong not based on God’s word but based on their feelings and emotions. So, by altering their circumstances and environment, Satan can easily control their emotions and feelings and make them act contrary to God’s word. They use sensual feelings to run their finances, their relationships, their career, etc. and that is why they suffer the same financial, marital and career breakdown like the world suffers. These and many more are why baby Christians suffers.
But mature Christians, who have attain at least the level of sonship, judges things not by how they feel but based on God’s word (Hebrews 5:14). They meditated daily on God’s word and strive to live by it because they want to be sure they’re living right. They understand the risk involved if they allow their senses and feelings to control them so they confirm every move with the Holy Spirit before taking a step. This is why they are called sons of God (Romans 8:14).
Romans 8:14 NKJV says
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
If you don’t want to suffer what unbelievers or slaves suffer, then leave babyhood stage and grow up to sonship. One can become a Christian in one day but spiritual growth doesn’t happen in one day, it takes a process. If Jesus tarries, we will look at one of the process tomorrow which is how to receive and be led by the Holy Spirit.
