No matter how good, wonderful and great the plan of God for your life is, no matter from which prophet you heard it, even if God is the one who told you by Himself, if you don’t pray to God about it, it will never come to pass.
There’s a popular scripture almost every Christians know that says “I know the plans I have for you ” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11 NLT. But If you read from Jeremiah 29:4-14, you will see that that promise was sent to the Israelites while they were in captivity in Babylon.
Not only did God revealed His plan for them, He also told them when they should start expecting deliverance from captivity, which was 70 years (Jeremiah 29:10). Despite knowing the plans and the time, still God told them they will need to pray to Him to bring those plans to pass. In other words, knowing the plan and the time doesn’t guarantee their deliverance from captivity until they pray.
Jeremiah 29:11–14 NLT says
[11] For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. [12] IN THOSE DAYS WHEN YOU PRAY, I WILL LISTEN. [13] IF YOU LOOK FOR ME WHOLEHEARTEDLY, YOU WILL FIND ME. [14] I WILL BE FOUND BY YOU,” SAYS THE LORD. “I WILL END YOUR CAPTIVITY AND RESTORE YOUR FORTUNES. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”
Thank God for the wonderful dreams and visions that you have; thank God for the prophetic words which you’ve received. But if you don’t pray to God or if someone isn’t praying for you to God concerning them, it won’t ever come to pass. This is why you must fight whatever wants to take away prayer from your life. I hope you will take this matter seriously.
