We can’t deny the facts that we are faced with different needs everyday. Need to feed ourselves (and may be including our families), pay utility bills, accommodation, hospital bills, social responsibilities, and the list goes on. To be honest, all these needs can sometimes become so overwhelming that we hardly have time for other things apart from work. But is this how we will continue? Is this the way God wants us to continue living? Is there no better way to get all these blessings?
The good news is, yes there’s a better way to get all these blessings. God does not want us to spend our strength, energy and resources only to still struggle to live from mouth to mouth (Isaiah 55:2). On the contrary, he wants every of our little efforts to yield abundant result (Isaiah 60:22). But we can’t get these wealth all by our own strength (John 15:5), we need God’s help.
Serving God and pursuing the interest of His kingdom is one of the major way through which we can commit God to helping us.
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
We see from Matt 6:33 that when we seek God’s kingdom first and His righteousness, all these things (money, food, shelter, power, wealth, etc) that other people are rushing to get shall easily be added to us by God.
Again, Exodus 23:25-27 says:
And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil. I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.
From this scripture also we see that serving God brings additional benefits which include blessings, healing (or good health), fruitfulness, and victory over enemies.
Therefore, now is the right time to start serving God so that He can add to you what others are wasting their lifetime pursuing.
But someone may ask “but I’ve been going to church, giving offering, paying tithe, winning souls, and praying for others. Am even a worker in my church, why then am I not blessed?” Well;
The truth remains that God is not a robber. If we serve God faithfully, joyfully, and willingly, He will definitely bless us as promised. Therefore, instead of spending our whole time seeking for the other things alone, let’s create quality time to serve God and pursue the righteousness of His kingdom and we will be amazed how those things will start coming to us cheaply and abundantly. Hallelujah!
