In Ephesian 6:16, the scripture give us spiritual insight that there are fiery arrows that are always fired at us by powers of darkness known as principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). However, we are admonished to put out or stop these burning or fiery arrows.
Ephesians 6:16 NLT says
In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.
But in order for us to successfully put out or stop these fiery arrows, we need to have spiritual insight into what they are and how they come because you can’t fight a battle you’re ignorant of, neither can you win a battle you don’t prepare for. But a battle that is known is half won.
These arrows have hindered many promised great destinies from seeing the light of the day; they have led many sincere souls into confusion, enticement, discouragement and distractions that made the enemy gain superior advantage over believers. So, for own good, it’s important we pay attention to what these arrows are and learn how to quench them because we are not ignorant of the devices of the devil.
2 Corinthians 2:11 NLT says
so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes.
Therefore, by the help of the Holy Spirit, throughout this week and next, we will examine some of these fiery arrows that are always fired at us from the kingdom of darkness.
