Last week, we realized from 1 Peter 5:8-9 that we don’t have to look for battle before battle comes. And from Luke 11:21-22, we also saw that to overcome any battle, we must be stronger than that battle. Today, we want to look at three ways to prepare for battle in a way that we will overcome.
Luke 11:21 NKJV says
[21] When a STRONG MAN, FULLY ARMED, GUARDS HIS OWN PALACE, his goods are in peace.
From this verse, we see the three things to do successfully prepare and overcome any battles and they are:
1) BE A STRONG MAN OR WOMAN: Little strength is one of the reasons why many faints or fail in the days of adversity or battle (Proverbs 24:10). They either rely on their strength or on other people. But no mortal man can overcome Satan or survive spiritual battle with mental strength.
Ephesians 6:10 AMP says
In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might.
To be a strong man, you must draw strength from God and rely on His might (Ephesians 6:10). Not in your degree, neither in your wealth nor in your influence but in the Lord alone. In God, you can draw unlimited power anytime and any day the battle comes, whether you are asleep or awake. God’s power is always available.
Strong battle requires strong man/woman. To enjoy peace, you must prepare for battle and to win for the battle, you must be strong. By God’s grace, we look at the second part of what we need to do to win spiritual battle.
