Human are naturally created to be intelligent. But even at the height of our intelligence, we’re bound to make numerous mistakes. How we evaluate issues and make decisions are fueled by facts available to us, and once the facts are altered any decision we make through it will definitely be wrong.
For instance, how do you know when to relocate from one place to another? Is it when the economy of a nation is bad or when your taste of house changes? or how do you know when to change a job? Is it when the company is not paying you enough? or how do you know how to respond to an incident? Is it based on how the other party treated you or based on your feelings or based on what you’ve heard? Any of these facts can be altered and there may be more to the incident than what the facts present. This is why we need to listen to God’s leading more than our own judgement.
God spoke to the Israelites in Jeremiah 16:12 NKJV saying:
And you have done worse than your fathers, for behold, EACH ONE FOLLOWS THE DICTATES OF HIS OWN EVIL HEART, SO THAT NO ONE LISTENS TO ME.
I believe this also applied to us today (Proverbs 3:5-6). It’s safer to listen to God leading more than our own judgement when faced with decision because what we see may be a very little version of what truly exist. Therefore, as you step into a new week, prepare your mind to walk not by what you hear or see alone but by God’s leading.
