Everything worthwhile in life takes time to build and goes through different stages. The same things goes for our lives. It takes time to building a career or business, a home, a ministry, wealth, etc. And depending on your age, there are times (especially when we’re young) that we can afford to focus on few aspects of our lives and not bother about the rest. But as we grow up and become more responsible & accountable, a time will come when we can’t afford to leave any aspects of our lives behind. We just need to carry them all along.
For instance, except with very few exceptions, it won’t be wise to put your spiritual life, or your career or business, or your marriage, or your well-being on hold because of your academic pursuit. And irrespective of the exception, which ever aspects you leave behind will tell on you. It’s always best to carry them all along.
This is very important because building anything requires different stages such as planning, testing, re-planning, execution, establishment, etc. And each of these stages, depending on which area of your life you’re building, requires years or even forever to build. And ANY ASPECTS YOU LEAVE BEHIND, STAYS BEHIND.
THE POINT IS: If you’re still young, say below 15yrs of age, you might not really bother about some aspects like marriage, career, etc. But if you’re now an adult (especially married), then you can’t afford to leave most (or any) aspects of your life behind. Remember, your time is running out. Therefore, learn to carry and grow your lives – spiritual, career, marital, children, health, etc., all at the same time.
WARNING: Be prepared that while trying to grow all these aspects together, you may NOT be able to allocate more time for each of these aspects per day compared to if you focus on one alone. But the little time you sacrifice to attend to each of these aspects DAILY will help you gain familiarity, understanding and mastery because spending time on things help gain mastery of that thing. Furthermore, this will force you to learn how to properly manage your time, work faster and prevent you from falling into sloth.
May the Lord grant us more understanding.
