God has given us the power to determine what happens to us. It is now left to us to either use the power actively or passively. God gave us this power so that we can be held ultimately responsible for our result.
Matthew 18:18 NLT says
“I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.
Jesus started this verse by saying “I tell you the truth”, meaning what He was about saying remains the truth whether we believe it, act on it or not. Furthermore, the scripture show us how our actions and inactions affects heaven’s decision.
Many persons have ignorantly permitted unwanted evil to happen in their lives. They didn’t realize that heaven was actually waiting for them to forbide that evil and stand their ground till the evil is reversed. No matter what happens to you or come your way, if you forbide it and stand your ground, Jesus says heaven will have no choice than to forbide it as well – it is a standing rule.
Stephen while being stone released his soul to death and he died (Act 7:59-60). Apostle Paul was also stoned but he refused to release his own soul to death, so the stones couldn’t kill him (Acts 14:19-20). Job was faced with uninvited challenges. His wife asked him to curse God and die but Job refused to curse God because he wasn’t ready to die (Job 2:9-10). He kept declaring his innocency and heaven eventually turned his situation around (Job 42:10). Hezekiah was told that he would die, but he rejected death and called on God. Heaven had no choice than to reverse the death verdict (2 Kings 20:1-6).
Don’t just fold your hands and accept whatever life drop on your table. Neither should you accept unnecessary sympathy to accept evil. It doesn’t matter whether it is your choice or you’re being consoled by friends and family to accept evil reports, it is your final decision that heaven is waiting for. If it is what you want, accept it. Otherwise, reject it sternly and heaven will back you up.
