You have what it takes to turn that oppression to an opportunity to grow and multiply

Not all oppression is evil, God allow us pass through some oppression so that we can grow and multiply. Everyone likes comfort, and it is easy to take a rest when we get comfortable. But some comfort are detrimental to our growth and multiplication and unless you have reached your goal, getting too comfortable is a trap.

Most of us are like a strong-boned donkey mentioned in Genesis 49:14-15 which saw that the resting place was good and that the land was pleasant, therefore he bowed his shoulder to bear [burdens], and became a servant at forced labor. Because of little comfort, we consciously or unconsciously submit ourselves to slavery and hard labour not realizing that is not our place of rest yet.

It is this that makes God sometimes allow us pass through some affliction so that we can wake up. This was the case with the Isrealites in Egypt. Because of the enjoyment they were having in the land, they forgot God’s promise to take them to their own land. So a time came that their growth became a threat to Pharaoh and as a result they were oppressed. But the more the Egyptians oppressed the Israelites, the more the Israelites grew and multiplied.

Exodus 1:1112 NLT says

[11] So the Egyptians made the Israelites their slaves. They appointed brutal slave drivers over them, hoping to wear them down with crushing labor. They forced them to build the cities of Pithom and Rameses as supply centers for the king. [12] But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more the Israelites multiplied and spread, and the more alarmed the Egyptians became.

Are you going through oppression at work, in your career, in your spiritual life or in your environment? Then like the Isrealites, don’t let the oppression crush you. Instead, take it as an opportunity to grow and multiply. Remember God’s words says we’re able to bear whatever temptation comes our way (1 Corinthians 10:13). So, you have what it takes to turn that oppression to an opportunity to grow and multiply.
