If the voice of judgement or accusation speaking against you in high places is louder and stronger than the voice of mercy speaking for you, then you’re in trouble. We all know it’s impossible to be present everywhere so that you can defend yourself. And even some places that you could be privilege to be present, it may be wise not to speak. This is why you need a voice of mercy to speak for you where you cannot speak for yourself.
For instance, when Satan brought accusations against Job (Job 1:6-12), had there been another voice (either from Job himself or someone else) to plead his cause before the Lord, it’s very possible the Lord wouldn’t permit Satan to hurt him. Even though it was clear that Job didn’t do anything wrong, but there was no voice to counter the voice of accusation that rose against Him.
On the other hand, we see from Numbers 14:11-20 when the Israelites sinned against God in the wilderness and God wanted to destroy them, Moses pleaded their cause with God and that anger was averted. This means voice of mercy can cause someone to enjoy unmerited forgiveness, favor, blessings, breakthrough and all sorts of good things.
Thankfully, this is what Jesus is doing for us at the right hand of God (Romans 8:34). This is why we have confidence to boldly approach the throne of grace to obtain mercy and grace when we need it most (Hebrews 4:16). Hallelujah! Therefore, always pray for mercy to speak for you above voice of condemnation and accusations.
