Many times we try to do everything by ourselves and the more we try, the more we get into more trouble. We forget the fact that we are only empowered to do the part that is required of us. The part that’s required of the Holy Spirit is best left to Him if you don’t want to keep on struggling and be frustrated.
John 16:13 NLT says
WHEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH COMES, HE WILL GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.
Part of the job of the Holy Spirit is to GUIDE US INTO ALL TRUTH and to TELL US ABOUT THE FUTURE. He doesn’t guide into error and falsehood; He doesn’t guide into death and misfortune. He guides into ALL (not some) TRUTH. In other words, without the help of the Holy Spirit you can’t know who to marry until He shows or reveal him/her to you either by revelation, or by prophecy or by inner witness; you can’t tell what your definite purpose on earth is until the Spirit shows or reveal it to you because you didn’t create yourself. And not only is He to show us, He’s also required to GUIDE US to into it all. Isn’t that amazing?
Don’t make a mistake to think you can lead yourself because you can’t. None of us can (Jeremiah 10:23). The whole world lies on wickedness (Isaiah 60:2). What you and I see are what we’re permitted to see. A lot happens unseen. So, you and I need the spirit of light (the Holy Spirit) for us to easily navigate the darkness of this world without getting lost. No human intelligence can navigate spiritual darkness. IT HAS TO BE SPIRIT TO SPIRIT.
If you’re interested, the Holy Spirit will show you the future and guide you into it. Your part and my part then is to ensure we catch whatever He’s showing us and follow wherever He’s guiding us. If you follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, believe me you can never miss it.
